INSECT AND DISEASE CONTROL

We here at Coates Tree Service are very concerned about the environment and will not recommend using chemicals unless the tree’s health is danger. Many insects have no detrimental or very minimal effects on the host tree and therefore do not require treatment. When we do use chemicals they are of the lowest toxicity possible and are applied only to limited areas. During the bark beetle infestation that the Santa Fe area experienced in the beginning of the twenty-first century, we refused to treat every pinon tree on undeveloped large parcels of land that may landowners wanted. Instead we encouraged the landowners to treat only trees that were important to screening and landscaping.
